Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
Every product sold by TeraMart Pty Ltd (ABN 87 696 148 204) comes with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. These rights apply regardless of any voluntary warranty offered below.
The three types of warranty at TeraMart
1. Distributor products β manufacturer's full Australian warranty
Most new laptops, desktops, servers, networking, phones and audio sold on this site are sourced from authorised Australian distributors. They are covered by the manufacturer's full Australian warranty β typically 12 months parts and labour, with some categories (enterprise servers, premium ASUS / HP / Dell SKUs) carrying longer cover. The exact warranty period is shown on the product page.
2. Teramart Range (new, imported) products β 12-month TeraMart store warranty
Products marked "Teramart Range" are brand-new, factory-sealed, imported by TeraMart directly. They do not carry an Australian manufacturer warranty. Instead, they are covered by our 12-month TeraMart store warranty from the day of delivery, covering hardware faults and defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
3. Refurbished products β 12-month TeraMart Refurb Warranty
Every refurbished product on this site β phones, laptops, desktops, tablets, watches, audio, monitors and consoles β is covered by a 12-month TeraMart Refurb Warranty from the day of delivery. This covers:
- Hardware faults and defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
- Battery health dropping below 70% capacity within the warranty period (we replace the cell).
- DOA (dead-on-arrival) within 30 days β full refund or replacement at your choice.
The refurb warranty does not cover accidental damage, liquid damage, cosmetic wear that develops during your ownership, lost / stolen items, or software issues unrelated to a hardware fault.
Some refurbished products carry a longer manufacturer warranty on top (e.g. Apple Certified Refurbished comes with a one-year Apple warranty). Where this applies, the longer of the two warranty terms applies, and the listing will say so explicitly.

14-day change-of-mind returns
You may return any unopened, unused product (new or refurbished) in original packaging within 14 days of delivery for a refund (less the original outbound shipping cost). Return shipping is at your cost unless the item is faulty. Opened or used items that are not faulty may be accepted at our discretion with a restocking fee of up to 15%.

Please include your order number, photos of any fault, and the serial number where available. We respond within 1 business day.
Important note on Consumer Guarantees
Nothing on this page limits your rights under the ACL. If a voluntary warranty period has expired but the product fails within a reasonable period, you may still be entitled to a remedy under the ACL based on the type, price and reasonable expected life of the product. We assess each case on its merits.
